Christchurch Adventure Park wins architecture gong after fire

Fire tore through Christchurch Adventure Park’s forest, ruining trails and structures, but the surviving buildings are considered some of Canterbury’s best-designed. The four buildings received an award for commercial architecture at the Canterbury Architecture Awards on Wednesday. Each building, designed by AW Architects, is wrapped in black metal cladding and lined with pine plywood. They were prefabricated to deal with a tight time frame and budget. Structex’s Montreal Street office were involved in the design of these buildings, congratulations to all involved as it was a mammoth effort to get these buildings completed within the timeframe and to receive this recognition is fantastic.
