As principal of Structex James leads a team of passionate engineers distributed across design offices in Christchurch, Timaru and Nelson. James brings with him over 10 years of New Zealand structural engineering experience, with the Canterbury Earthquakes shaping his early career.

Highlights of James’ career include leading the engineering design on a diverse range of complex projects, playing a vital role in the response and recovery of Christchurch following the 2010/2011 earthquakes, and sharing the journey with clients to turn a vision into reality.

James has a passion for exploring New Zealand’s wilderness by foot, mountain bike and kayak, and has contributed to the community as a volunteer with the Christchurch Land Search and Rescue Team.
