Julia graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2012 and began working at Structex in 2013 before taking 18 months leave to serve a volunteer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Continuing the tradition of her family, she is a fourth generation structural engineer.
Her experience to date includes assessment of existing building strength and earthquake damage, strengthening of existing buildings (including historic brick masonry buildings), residential and commercial design, and development of recreational climbing frames installed through the world by a local Christchurch company.
Julia is Christchurch born and raised, and between running, hiking, Ceroc dance, and trying to teach herself to skateboard, Julia is a leader in the youth programme at her church.
