James started with Structex as a summer intern and then as a structural engineering graduate late 2009. He has enjoyed working in a variety of building sectors including multi-storey commercial, retail, healthcare, industrial, residential, and adventure tourism. His skill-set includes in-depth knowledge of shipping container buildings, with experience gained from the Re:START Mall, a 3 storey temporary workers accommodation, and Salvation Army retail store.
James grew up in Hamilton, and moved to Christchurch in 2006 for university and the abundance of quality rock climbing nearby. He spends his spare time rock climbing, running, tramping, surfing, and volunteering with the Christchurch Land Search and Rescue team.
