Geoff is the founder of Structex and has over 30 years consulting engineering experience. After graduating from Canterbury University with an honours degree in civil engineering, he worked offshore for a civil contractor then returned to NZ as a structural designer of low and high-rise commercial buildings. His expertise now extends to a wide range of professional engineering advice as a designer, project manager, and expert witness, as well as director roles for a number of Structex businesses. He is driven in engineering and business by a passion for excellence, innovation, and win-win relationships. He enjoys direct involvement with project design, looking to combine his experience with the most up to date knowledge of the talented teams he works with.
Geoff has contributed to industry bodies including ACENZ as a board member, various technical groups, and is currently on the management committee of the NZ Society for Earthquake Engineering.
He and his wife Gaye now live in the Christchurch CBD to be close to the earthquake rebuild activity, are active in the Anglican Church, grow grapes on a small Marlborough vineyard, and enjoy exploring the Marlborough Sounds with family and friends.
