Andrew Dunbar

Andrew originally started working at Structex in late 2013 after completing his Masters degree specialising in post-tensioned timber structures. He is particularly passionate about timber structures, and in 2019, returned to Structex after a 2 year sabbatical in Vancouver, Canada, working at Fast + Epp – renowned for their mass timber designs. In Vancouver, Andrew furthered his expertise in mass timber structures and was involved in several large projects including a 10 storey timber structure. In addition to his timber knowledge, he also has experience in a wide range of projects including steel and concrete structures, residential and commercial assessments, and seismic strengthening. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys a wide range of sports, playing Hockey competitively in the winter and touch (not so competitively) in the summer. And to wind down he takes his Thundercat boat out to tear up the lakes and the sea around the South Island.
